Boston Wedding Videographer
“I thought I’d never watch my wedding video”
“It’s true. I didn’t. I watched it once when I got it, and that’s pretty much it.
Until my dad died. I rewatched our father/daughter dance. I listened to the speech he gave at our reception. I watched his silly dance moves.
I wasn’t sure if spending the money on wedding video was worth it, but now I know. It absolutely was.
I’m so happy I have these memories. We don’t have kids yet, but if we do, I’m going to show them this video of their grandfather dancing to Beyoncé.
Hiring your team was the absolute best decision we could have made. I cannot thank you enough.”
Boston Wedding Videographer FAQ
What videos will I get?
We produce a handful of different films for clients! Here’s an overview of our films, from shortest to longest!
59 second – It’s a taste of the day, perfect for instagram and mobile.
Highlight film – Like a movie trailer! Usually ~4 minutes long.
Clean edit of your ceremony – Start to finish, your entire ceremony, uninterrupted
Clean edits of your reception – Start to finish, your entire first dance, toasts and speeches, performances, and parent dances
Why should I get a wedding video? I’ll never watch it.
Why look back on photos and videos when your memory is still fresh? You are capable of closing your eyes, and imagining the string quartet during your ceremony, and how happy your grandpa looked as he clinked his champagne glass against yours.
But… what happens when your memory starts to fade? What happens when you want to share how this monumental day felt? Perhaps that someone is a future family member that isn’t born yet.
Sure, the value of watching a wedding video 6 months or a year down the line isn’t a ton, but I would bet that in 25-50 years, this video will be a big part of your family legacy.
So why should you get a wedding video? Because you get to invest in your future self, and your future happiness and emotion when you get to watch it.
How many weddings has your team filmed?
Our team has filmed 200+ weddings up to date.
How long have you been filming weddings in Boston ?
TEN YEARS!
What’s your favorite bit to capture?
Everyone wedding is different, just like every wedding couple is different. Something that I think our team does extremely well is to ask a lot of important questions about what’s important to each couple.
The best wedding videographers can guess what moments will be very appreciated in the future, but it’s always ideal to have an honest conversation about what parts of the day each couple is looking forward to the most.
Personally, I love “getting ready” and a close second is the “first look” Both are suspenseful, emotional, and usually a little goofy.
Things that your videographer wished you knew
Alternatives to personal vows
I understand that it can be uncomfortable to express personal vows to one another in front of all of your family and friends. There are two options that I think are more private ways to express your love.
The first is personalized vows that you say to each other in private. I did this for my wedding, and it was so special. I’m an ugly crier, and definitely bawled my eyes out.
The second is to write out a card to your partner and then read it aloud before you give it to them. This way, we’ll work with shutter and sound- capture the audio, and overlay parts of it in the film!
If your DJ uses those crazy green little dotted lights on the dance floor…
We will see it in the film. You will look like you’re in an alien rave, and no, we can’t fix it.
We’re a Boston wedding videographer team and it’s much harder to “photoshop it”
We film in 24 or 60 frames per second. This means that every second, our cameras are taking 24-60 images… to make a film and capture all the important moments on such a special day. It would be extremely costly and time consuming to just “photoshop it”, as much as we wish we could!
When videographers and photographers are coordinated, everything will be more efficient.
To ensure a wedding goes smoothly, pick a team of photographer and videographer who work well with one another. They must be able to move around the venue without getting in each other’s way so they can both capture moments from different angles throughout your special day!
There’s no need to anyone to pose for our cameras!
Our style is documentary and candid. What we really want is raw emotion from the families and friends of the couple!
The best thing that we can tell our couples and their families is to just enjoy the day, and there’s no need to pose for our cameras!
5 Best audio to capture on a wedding day:
Ceremony Vows
The wedding ceremony is one of the most memorable moments in a couple’s life. It’s not always about the food, location, or music – it’s about your words and vows to each other. One way to make this moment even more special is by recording your wedding ceremony vows so you can listen back whenever you need some love in your heart
Officiant’s speech
There are a few moments during the wedding ceremony that will stay with you forever. The officiant’s speech is one of those moments. In order to create a truly memorable experience, it’s important to prepare ahead of time and think about what you want your officiant to say on your big day.
Speeches and toasts from wedding party
For most couples, the wedding toast speech is a memorable moment in their day. It’s also one of the few opportunities for someone to speak candidly about what they really think of the bride and groom. You may get a wedding toast speech that is intimate and personal, which is why we recommend recording your wedding toast on video!
Toasts from parents
On your wedding day, you will be getting ready with the one person who knows you best. Imagine what it would feel like to have your parents present to give their blessing and share their love for you! Aside from having them do a speech during the reception, why not record it? After a lot of years going by, you’ll be able to relive this moment through film.
Thank you from the couple
Recording the wedding thank you speech at the end of reception is not only a good idea, but it’s also important. Capturing your words to friends and family will allow them to replay that moment in their minds when they need a little pick-me-up. It may seem like an odd thing to do after all the stress has been relieved, however this action can be very beneficial for both the bride and groom as well as their loved ones.
Recording wedding thank you speeches gives couples one last chance to share what they are feeling with everyone who helped make their day perfect.
Tips for an Awesome Wedding Speech
- Speech toasts should always introduce the speaker and what relation they have with the couple. If you are speaking after another, acknowledge them in your speech too!
- When giving a wedding speech, it’s important to have cue cards with major talking points written down. This way you can relax and know what is coming next so your speech flows smoothly
- To make your speech perfect, practice it beforehand. It shouldn’t feel too brief but at the same time not be long-winded because there are other guests to entertain as well.
- Before your wedding, test out jokes to ensure they don’t contain any innuendos or references that might offend anyone. Remember not every occasion is the same- you wouldn’t have a speech at work sound like one given during a toast
